Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What types of payment do you accept?

A. We accept cash, local checks, Mastercard and Visa.

Q. What are your hours of operation?

A. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Noon-5pm. We do offer other times by appointment only for Custom AR Builds and other special circumstances.

Q. Do I need a permit to buy a gun?

A. No, not in Florida. However, you must be a Florida resident either full-time with Florida Identification, or part-time with out of state Identification and other government issued documentation that proves your part-time resident status.

Q. How much does it cost for an AR build?

A. It depends.....the cost is very much associated with the components that go into it. If you want a dependable entry level AR with the bare minimums, you're looking around $600. If you are looking for a high end build such as a Patrol Duty Weapon or for military type uses, the price can reach upwards of $1700.

Q. Can you build me an SBR (Short-Barreled Rifle)?

A. No, Vanguard Gunworks is not licensed to deal with Class 3 or NFA firearms. However, we can build you an AR pistol and you can then file a Form 1 with the ATF to obtain a tax stamp for you to convert your AR platform pistol to an SBR, a rifle with a barrel less than 16".

Q. Can you help me ship a gun to New York (NY, NJ, MA, CA, etc) ?

A. There are some states that have restrictions on the firearms that are legal within their borders. More often than not, the guns you have are found to be ok in those states. Vanguard Gunworks will verify with your provided FFL in that location to ensure the firearms to be shipped will be accepted by them before any transfer is attempted. This saves time, confusion, and money for you. See Outgoing under FFL Transfers for further info.
